Worksheetless Classroom?
What a concept. This is quite a challenge for me as a seasoned teacher, but thought it would be worth a try. I had my students using their chromebooks to research different types of pollution for their group projects and their compare and contrast writing lessons. Although we did use chart paper to take notes, the students enjoy working on their chromebooks. I struggle at times with the amount of time children are in front of computers, and also the fact that they still need to be able to write and work out problems on paper, but I am working hard to try to balance that out in my classroom. I also like the fact that "worksheets" and papers are not getting lost in desks or I'm not getting the typical, "Where should I put this," response from my kids.

Great Start!
We have had a great start to our 5th grade school year. The kids are making a great adjustment to D5 and we are working hard to learn new procedures of the classroom. We can't wait to get more balance balls to sit on. If you'd like to donate one, we would LOVE that! These an be purchased at Marshalls, TJ MaXX or any sports stores. Check out this article on Balance Balls in the Classroom! Balance Balls in the Classroom and at Home!

Welcome Back to School
I hope you all had a fantastic summer vacation. I know I did! I was able to go on a week long vacation to Kauai with my entire family, take some mini vacations to San Diego, watched a Padre Game, went to a Padre game that got cancelled due to rain, and took some Google Certified Teacher Trainings. Please check this blog daily/weekly as I will be posting homework assignments, photos and important information on here. Here is a link to my website (which includes my blog).
